Portsmouth Hotel Approaches the Finish Line

This new local icon in historic Portsmouth is nearing completion with testing, commissioning and cleaning all underway.

Testing and commissioning this 125 bed hotel is quite a process and includes checking and recording all the additional technology and components which has been designed into this scheme to enhance its environmental performance.

This hotel has been designed to the BREEAM Excellent standard which has been achieved through constant collaboration and knowledge sharing between the consultant team and the specialist sub contractors. This has allowed us to maximise the environmental gains and the buildings performance without simply ‘throwing money at the problem’. The specialist advice of our BREEAM Consultant Sara Mairs and the experience in particular of the mechanical and electrical sub contractors. MD Enertech and Meridian Electrical Consulting has lead to a robust solution which also kept capital expenditure down.

Cleaning the hotel is also underway ready for handover which has led to this fantastic set of photographs showing the cleaning of the façade on the elliptical tower. Not your average window cleaning job!
