Project Win- Travelodge Gosport

After the Christmas break, the first couple of months of 2019 have been a hive of activity for us, particularly with inquiries about new work and tendering. Thanks to the efforts of our team and supply chain, this has secured another Travelodge scheme, this time in Gosport.

The scheme in Gosport High Street is for a 70 bed scheme with parking behind and below. As the location is right on the high street, we have worked with consultant AAD to develop a solution for the facade and glazing which takes into account of the unusual noise sources, such as the twice weekly market, and ensure that customers of the hotel still experience the same level of peace and quiet they would expect.

As the hotel is being constructed between existing buildings, we have also been working with the council and the neighbours to develop a lifting solution which facilitates the development whilst minimising oversailing issues. This is has been a collaborative effort between ourselves, the client, our supply chain and the cranage company to find the right solution. Thanks to some additional training which will be carried out for the site team, we will be reducing the length of the crane jib at the end of each shift reducing its diameter to 14m and significantly reducing the impact of the crane when in free swing when out of use.

Work commenced on site this month so we will post another update in the coming weeks once the frame starts to take shape.
