Burnham On Sea Travelodge- Complete!

After 10 months work, we proudly handed over the hotel in Burnham on Sea to our client, ERC Developments and their tenant Travelodge last week.

The scheme was constructed using a timber frame, clad in a mixture of brick and render with all internal finishes in line with the occupier’s requirements. The scheme is part of a wider development on a site with complex ecological requirements including the presence of both Bats and Great Crested Newts. As such both the design and construction of the hotel have been carefully managed to accommodate both species. This includes a lighting design sensitive to the Bats needs and timing the whole development to avoid the breeding and hibernating seasons for the GCN’s. This has been carried out in conjunction with specialist ecologists which protects the team involved as well as the ecological features of the site.

The 78 bed scheme was completed using a combination of existing and new local supply chain members delivering in total 30 new jobs through the construction and operational phases, a real boon to the local jobs market and praised by the local district council.
